Since the retirement of Fidel Castro, Cuba’s 82 year-old leader, there has been no sign that Cuban Communism is about to disintegrate, in spite of what many people expected.

Instead, helped by China, Venezuela and other emerging nations, stability has been maintained and President Raúl Castro has led a very slow improvement in living conditions.
