Oya Eczacibasi
Chair, Istanbul Museum of Modern Art
Oya Eczacibasi (pronounced Edge-Zadge-basha) is a member of one of Turkey’s longest established and most successful business dynasties, which made much of its fortune in pharmaceuticals. She is most celebrated for spearheading the founding of the Istanbul Museum of Modern Art, the institution that, more than any other, has put the city on the artistic and cultural map since the turn of the millennium and made her the doyenne of its vibrant arts scene.

Ms Eczacibasi was educated in France, the UK and Turkey. She is on the boards of various arts and education organisations as well as being chair of the Istanbul Modern. She also teaches museum administration at Bosphorus University.
