Companies open up on liquidity

The number of companies discussing financing and liquidity issues in their annual reports almost doubled in the past year, according to Deloitte, as investors demanded more clarity on companies’ capital structures amid the downturn.

In a survey of the annual reports of 130 listed companies, Deloitte found that 83 per cent discussed the company’s capital structure and financing, compared with 47 per cent in 2008.
