Microsoft replies to EU by stripping browser

After years of being forced on to the defensive by European regulators, Microsoft has finally found a way to go on the attack.

In an unexpected move on Thursday, the software group announced that it would strip its Internet Explorer out of Windows 7, the next version of the operating system, in the European market when the software goes on sale in October.
