Laws to curb tax avoidance unveiled

New laws to curb tax avoidance by contract workers could save more than £1bn in the three years to 2010, according to the Treasury,

Draft laws published yesterday would make "managed service companies" - shell companies that sell a contractor's labour in order to avoid paying tax and national insurance - liable for any back tax or NI owed.
