PwC to seek speedier return of Lehman assets

The administrators to Lehman Brothers’ European arm will meet representatives of the hedge fund industry this week to propose an alternative method to hasten the return of $8.9bn of assets trapped in the failed US bank.

PwC, the administrators, said on Monday an appeal to a decision to block a previous plan it had put forward would be heard in London on October 26. In the meantime PwC is proposing a “second-best” solution.
