Disney chiefs wanted to quit over Ovitz

Michael Eisner said on Tuesday that he averted an exodus of Walt Disney executives in May 1996 by promising to deal with Michael Ovitz ?one way or another? by the end of the year.

Robert Iger, head of ABC, and Sanford Litvack, general counsel, threatened to resign because they could not work with the former talent agent appointed group president the previous October.
