FSA rejects whistleblower’s claims

The Financial Services Authority has strongly rejected allegations from a former employee that it stood by as building societies took risky investment decisions during the financial boom.

The claims, made by a former supervisor at the City watchdog, were described on Friday by the FSA as “half-truths and distortions”.
