Fifteen years ago, Phil Stevens decided he was bored with his “humdrum” desk job as a contract manager for a security equipment company in the landlocked English county of Shropshire.
He and his partner – now his wife – travelled abroad and found jobs as deckhand and housekeeper on Arctic P, a 90m salvage tug converted into a luxury yacht and owned by the late Australian media tycoon Kerry Packer.
