Raw tribal scars of Kenya’s poll violence

On Stephen Mburu’s scalp, on the raw orange earth where his church used to stand, and on the consciousness of his country – the scars of Kenya’s post-election crisis still remain.

It is nearly nine months since the pastor was smashed over the head and had eight teeth knocked out by club-carrying thugs from the rival Kalenjin tribe, who burnt his church to the ground with petrol bombs and killed the 35-40 people sheltering inside.
