Asia stocks ease on banking concerns

Concerns about the banking sector and uncertainty over the outlook for global monetary policy drove most of the region’s equity markets lower on Tuesday, although activity was reined in by the closure of Japanese markets for a national holiday.

The Reserve Bank of Australia kicked off a busy week for central bank meetings around the world with a 25 basis point rise in its main interest rate to 3.5 per cent.
