Hurdle for Names at Lloyd's will be removed

The government has prom-ised to remove tax barriers against individual investors in the Lloyd's of London insurance market converting to limited liability.

Lloyd's used to be funded wholly by rich individuals known as Names. In recent years it has become increasingly funded by corporate capital, which now accounts for more than 80 per cent of the market's capacity.
