Regulator asks for probe into Mazars’ advice

The body that disciplines accountants and actuaries has launched an investigation into the conduct of Mazars LLP, a financial and accountancy firm, in connection with advice it gave to pension scheme trustees regarding the transfer of assets and liabilities to a new plan sponsor.

It is the first time the regulator has asked a professional body to pursue an investigation against firms or individuals that are not directly responsible for administering a scheme but providing advice to it.
