Taiwan protesters stage mass march

More than half a million people took to the streets of Taiwan’s capital at the weekend in the biggest display of disapproval over President Ma Ying-jeou’s policies since his election earlier this year.

The protest was organised by the opposition Democratic Progressive party but was also attended by others unhappy over the flagging economy.
