Warning on trade between EU and Russia

European Union and Russian business chiefs on Thursday warned that “stagnation” in political relations could harm bilateral trade and investment.

In a downbeat statement on the eve of Friday’s EU-Russia summit, the business leaders urged both sides to accelerate efforts to secure Russia’s accession to the World Trade Organisation and to press ahead with negotiations on a new EU-Russia pact, which have been delayed more than a year.
