UK retail sales bounce in April

Retail sales bounced higher in April, adding to signs that the recession is easing.

Sales volumes rose by 2.6 per cent compared to a year ago, helped by a faster rise in sales of both groceries and non-food goods, the Office for National Statistics reported on Thursday.
