The House intelligence committee plans to call George Tenet and Porter Goss, former Central Intelligence Agency chiefs, to testify over the scandal surrounding the destruction of videotapes showing the interrogations of two al-Qaeda members.

Mr Tenet was the CIA director in 2002 when the spy agency recorded the interrogations of Abu Zubaydah, an alleged 9/11 planner, and Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, the alleged mastermind of the 2000 bombing of the destroyer USS Cole in Aden.
