Bidding war set to turn tide for Malaysian banks

A decision could come as early as Friday on whether Kuwait Finance House succeeds in gaining a controlling stake in Rashid Hussain, Malaysia’s fourth largest financial group.

KFH is competing against a rival bid by EON Capital, a local bank, for Rashid Hussain as Malaysia moves to consolidate its banking industry, a development that has helped spark a rally in the country’s stock market.
