The Isle of Man is more readily associated with the TT races, tourism and tail-less cats than it is with aerospace and precision manufacturing. Yet it is home to nearly a dozen companies operating in this field and several allied to it.
As a land mass of 227 square miles in the middle of the Irish Sea, the island would not appear to be a logical choice for the siting of a manufacturing base. However, for those turning out high value-added products, it can be an ideal location, as Ohio-based Swagelok discovered.
