Afghan rivals take campaign to US airwaves

Abdullah Abdullah, the challenger to President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan, on Sunday called for a “dramatic increase” in US troops as both contenders took to the American airwaves.

Mr Abdullah sought to portray himself as the better partner to the US, telling Fox News on Sunday: ”The Afghan side has not been able to deliver, and the Afghan side has been led by Mr Karzai.”
