Anyone for tennis with Blair? Labour raises cash

The appeal of auction prizes such as tennis with Tony Blair and waiter-service from John Prescott at a rugby match have helped Labour raise more than £350,000 for its cash-strapped coffers.

The "celebrity fundraiser" at Wembley stadium, attended by Gordon Brown and a host of cabinet ministers on Thursday night, marked the latest effort by Labour to expand its base of donors and service its debts of about £20m.
