Chinese shares staged an afternoon rebound on Monday as investors hoped authorities would implement measures to bolster growth after GDP and inflation slowed.
The Shanghai Composite index gained 2.3 per cent to 1,974.006, led by financial companies after falling during morning trading. GDP growth slowed to 9.0 per cent in the third quarter of the year, while consumer price inflation slowed to 4.6 per cent in September and industrial production growth slowed to 11.4 per cent.
