Icelandic exchange considers merger

After years of standing on the sidelines of European consolidation, Iceland's Stock Exchange has finally started formally to investigate the option of merging with a European partner.

OMX, its largest Nordic peer, would be the most natural fit for Icex, given that it already encompasses the exchanges of Sweden, Finland, Denmark and the Baltic countries.
