Juventus and three other Italian football clubs successfully reduced the sanctions they face for match fixing after an appeals panel agreed on Tuesday to lighten the penalties handed down by a sports tribunal.
The appeals board maintained Juventus’ relegation to Serie B but reduced its points deduction to 17, compared to the original sanction of 30 points . This will give Juventus a better chance of using the coming season to climb back into the premier league the following year. The club was also stripped of its league titles for the past two seasons and will pay a fine of €120,000.
