Ford cuts output at European plants

Ford Motor announced production cutbacks at two of its European plants on Monday in response to the “unprecedented decline” in demand for new cars in the region.

The Detroit carmaker said it was moving from three to two shifts at its factory in Valencia, Spain, from May 1. It also said it would continue with the four-day week at its plant in Saarlouis, Germany announced earlier this year.
