Iraq and Afghanistan: War-weary public to be put to the test

When Barack Obama takes the presidential oath on Monday, he will become the first elected president since Richard Nixon to enter the White House at a time of war.

In contrast to Mr Nixon, who took over responsibility for the Vietnam war, however, Mr Obama will become commander-in-chief as the US fights not one, but two wars, in Iraq and Afghanistan.
