Xerox and accounting firm KPMG are to pay $750m to settle a lawsuit that alleged stockholders were victims of fraudulent accounting practices at the office equipment maker.

Xerox said Thursday it had received preliminary court approval to settle a securities lawsuit that dates back to 2000.
