Drug body in call to attract investment

Britain’s pharmaceutical industry launched its own pre-election manifesto of demands to stimulate greater innovation in medicines, as it released a survey highlighting concern over the UK’s attractions as a centre for investment in the life sciences.

In its “prescription for innovation”, the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry on Monday called for greater incentives to stimulate clinical trials, academic research, the adoption of new medicines by the National Health Service and tax reforms to foster intellectual property.
