Greggs’ economy fare keeps it resilient

Greggs, the bakery chain, said it was benefiting from people seeking value in the recession by purchasing its 99p sandwiches and 55p sausage rolls.

The cost of an average transaction in a Greggs shop is £2 and 1m people a day shop in its 1,400 outlets.
