Tracking down the controls behind Kerviel’s trade

Like many traders, Jérôme Kerviel chose to always work with the same broker.

As a result, the man blamed for a record €4.9bn ($7.2bn) loss at Société Générale had a very close relationship with Moussa Bakir, his preferred broker at Fimat, the French bank’s clearing and brokerage arm.
