Wider London road-user charges denied

The transport adviser to London’s mayor has denied having plans to introduce a London-wide system of road-charging, even though a strategy document shows it is the only way to head off growing gridlock.

Kulveer Ranger, adviser to Boris Johnson, said there was “absolutely no scheme” to introduce London-wide charging in the mayor’s transport strategy, one of three strategy documents published on Monday about London’s future up to 2031.
