Morgan Stanley’s private equity fund of funds will on Monday announce a £45m investment in Aldermore Bank alongside Anacap Financial, which bought the 40-year-old leisure and property lender formerly called Ruffler Bank in May.
The investment in the UK’s first deposit-taking institution to be bought by private equity underlines the growing appetite of buy-out investors for acquisitions in the crisis-stricken financial services industry.
