Green stimulus for poorer countries

The government is planning to kick-start an international donor fund to stimulate green technologies for the developing world.

Gareth Thomas, the international development minister, said on Wednesday the UK would draw up plans by next year for “low-carbon advance market commitments”. Low-carbon AMCs would provide price assurances and a long-term market designed to stimulate renewable energy projects.
