Energy: Supply lags behind rising demand

Demand for electricity in Turkey is growing at 8 per cent a year. Most estimates predict that the country’s current generating capacity will cease to meet demand in the next two years.

Official forecasts say the sector will require $3bn invested in building generating capacity each year from now until 2020.
