U-turn on damning military report

Ministers have agreed to publish a highly critical report exposing the state of military procurement in the UK, weeks after “suppressing” the document.

The report by Bernard Gray, an influential figure in the strategic defence review of 1998, was ordered by John Hutton, former defence secretary, and was due to be published in July. But Downing Street shelved it after deciding the details were too embarrassing to make public.
