Rentokil profits up on cost cuts

A £40m ($63m) cost-saving programme helped Rentokil Initial, the support services group, record a sharp rise in first-half profits.

Pre-tax profits jumped from £8.2m to £30.9m as the company restructured its City Link parcel delivery business and saved money on procurement.
