Shepherd Neame highlights changing habits

Britons will continue to cut down on visits to their local pubs in favour of enjoying their favourite drinks at home even when the recession is over, according to Shepherd Neame.

Jonathan Neame, chief executive of the Kent-based brewer and pub operator, said the recession-fuelled growth in home drinking – made more attractive by cut-price alcohol offerings from supermarkets – was not just a temporary “blip”.
