Thailand probes human-to-human bird flu case

Thailand on Monday admitted to a ?probable? case of bird flu transmitted from one person to another, deepening concerns about the persistence of the disease and the chance that the virus could eventually mutate to cause a human influenza pandemic.

The public health ministry in Bangkok said a woman who died of bird flu last week appeared to have caught the illness when caring for her hospitalised daughter, who also died after coming into contact with chickens in northern Thailand.
