Taliban leader is dead, says Pakistan

Pakistan’s most notorious Taliban militant was killed in an attack this week, the country’s foreign minister said on Friday.

Linked to the 2007 assassination of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, Baitullah Mehsud had emerged as the most powerful Taliban leader in Pakistan’s border region with Afghanistan.
