Many businesses and, in turn, many CIOs see IT from a purely operational perspective. Its role is to keep the business ticking along. Some slightly more enlightened organisations see the role extending to growing the business.

I would like to see organisations add two further budgetary pots, namely “change the business” and “save the business”.
