Indonesia's earthquake toll 'might reach 2,000'

Rescue efforts continued on the stricken islands off western Sumatra on Wednesday as officials say the death toll from the biggest earthquake since the Asian tsunami might be as high as 2,000.

On Nias, where it is estimated at up to 1,000 people may have died, help began reaching injured survivors but efforts have been slowed by fuel shortages and adverse weather conditions.
