JJB’s Jones dribbles past assailants

Security more common at the JJB Stadium than JJB headquarters surrounded the sports retailer’s annual meeting in Wigan on Friday.

Mike Ashley, founder of rival Sports Direct and a JJB shareholder, had said he might appear to ask about a £1.5m loan he gave Sir David Jones, its chairman, so the company had engaged a troop of burly bouncers.
