COMPANIES Alliance Trust, the FTSE 100-listed investment trust, on Monday stuck by the cautious stance on the equity markets that has seen it underperform rivals during the recent recovery.
Revealing results for the six months to July 31, Katherine Garrett-Cox, chief executive, said: “We are sceptical of the scale and pace of the recovery that we have seen. Sentiment has been driving the market, not fundamentals.”
