Strictly speaking, it takes more than two
to tango

Charles Long’s career took a spin three years ago. After years working in insurance and the motor trade, he found himself booking a room in the Windsor Arts Centre to see if he could translate his love of Argentinian Tango into a business teaching others the dance’s sultry steps.

As the packed room followed his instructions on how to embrace complete strangers and move with drama and grace to the evocative music, it occurred to him that he could recreate the dance culture of Buenos Aires’ bordellos in the rather more staid Thames Valley. Now Thames Valley Tango teaches 180 people a week in three venues.
