Hikma boosted by diabetes medicines

Increasingly westernised lifestyles amongst people in the Middle East have boosted profits at Hikma Pharmaceuticals amidst higher margins and increased sales of hypertension and diabetes drugs.

“If you came to our part of the world 10 years ago you wouldn’t see a single fast-food outlet,” said Said Darwazah, chief executive of the generic drugs maker.
