China quake victims consider legal action

The parents of children killed in a school collapse in the Chinese earthquake have joined together to seek legal help and step up pressure on local officials they believe responsible for sub-standard building work.

Parents at Juyuan middle school, where 289 pupils and teachers died, are pooling money to hire legal representation. “We want to talk to a lawyer,” one father, who asked not to be named for fear of reprisals, told the Financial Times.
