New technology is where the so-called business-IT divide is at its widest. In previous columns I have highlighted that the IT function's influence on business extends beyond technology matters.

Earlier columns on my IT Value Stack model looked at how strategy, people and processes need to be entwined for successful exploitation of IT. Only when these entwinement layers are addressed is it fruitful to focus on technology management.
