IMF would never make such a claim

From Mr Derek Tonkin.

Sir, Martin Morland (Letters, November 12) claims that a “confidential” International Monetary Fund report seen by EarthRights International revealed that Burmese gas revenues are being salted away in two Singapore banks. ERI made no such claim. It only quoted its own “sources”. The IMF would never include such sensitive, client-confidential information in any Article IV Consultation Report. The two Singapore banks concerned, OCBC and DBS Group, issued immediate and categorical denials that they held such revenues.
