Devil still hidden in details of fiscal package

When Barack Obama called for an aggressive stimulus to revive the economy he conceded that it would be costly and increase a substantial budget deficit.

But he said there was a "rare" consensus between conservative and liberal economists that: "We need a big stimulus package that will jolt the economy back into shape and that is focused on the 2.5m jobs that I intend to create during the first part of my administration."
