Bid talks resume for Inmarsat

A proposed takeover of Inmarsat was resumed on Friday when Harbinger Capital, the US hedge fund, and SkyTerra Communications, a US satellite company, announced their intention to make an offer for the UK satellite telephone operator.

Talks were suspended on Monday when Harbinger made clear it could not launch a formal offer for Inmarsat until it had obtained regulatory clearance for a deal.
